Detecting a problem as a result of the national emergency, to the pandemic of the Sars-Cov-2 COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus). The Basilica Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, in Cartago, Costa Rica, by recommendation of the Ministry of Health in the year 2020 and 2021, it was necessary to suspend the traditional romería that took place celebrated in the country every first of August. Situation that put at risk the health of the population in general, thus preventing the spread of the virus and contagion in people.
It was decided to create an application that solved this the need to carry out a virtual romería.
For July 2021, the Mi Negrita app was launched, which sought to grant to the Basilica an application with identity and that the population in general felt identified by the fervor to the Virgin Mary in the figure of "La Negrita". With more than 10 thousand downloads in the first week of launch and with 5,000 additional downloads in the week of the Novena to Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles. The application was accepted by the faithful, remaining in the top 3 of the applications with the most downloads for two months after its release. This app was developed for Android and iOS system
